Well everyone, I have checked in and will be leaving Germany soon. I really can’t wait to leave German and have the opportunity to hang out in PHX and do nothing for 4 weeks. It’s finally getting cold here, but not as cold in years past. To this date, I have yet to see Ice on my car in the morning. Not one frost and its December 22. Nonetheless, to go and enjoy the warmer weather in Phx is going to be great.

My preparation for the long journey began yesterday when I started packing my bags. I tried to keep them pretty light because I am under the opinion that I’ll be buying a lot of stuff in the states and will need some extra room in my suitcases to bring it all back. Anyway, I pack my bags, I clean my house, upload some music onto my IPOD. I’m all done. woo hoo, I go to bed, it was around 3 am. Feeling pretty tired the next morning as I try to get out of bed at 8 am, but at the same time relieved that I have all my packing done, I do my morning chores. I’m about to leave for work when I look at my bag and think to myself. I’m sure I can pack that better, let me open my bag and take a look. So I open my bag, rearrange some items, save absolutely no space and say what the hell, I’m done. I then try to zip up my bag again, where I notice that the zipper is not moving correctly, something is wrong. This thought is suddenly interrupted by a not so loud pop! I look down and see my bag’s zipper is completely broken. So now I’m down to one bag. What a start.

Actually, this bag was on its farewell journey anyway, my plan was to buy another one and throw this one away when I got home to the US. But now I’m one bag short and I really need some creative packing to get all my stuff in one bag, a task which I am leaning towards being an impossible one.

Well that’s about it, as I said I’m all booked all the way to Phx. I have a window seat on both flights. I’m happy. I’ll be arriving in Phoenix Thursday afternoon.
