The Long Way Home!
January 15th, 2007 by benbjamin
I begin my journey back to Germany today, I’ll fly to Phoenix tonight, pack my stuff, say my final good-byes and then jump on a plane that’s heading to london, hopefully. In london I’ll have a little layover and then take the final leg back to frankfurt. It took me 24 hours to get to the US but I hope it doesn’t take me 24 hours to get back, of course I guess it depends on when you start counting, if i start counting in Burbank its going to be almost 48 hours before I am finally resting in my bed in St. Aug.
My trip has further exceeded all my expectations, especially this final week where I have been in California meeting my aunt and some of my cousin’s, which for the most part I didn’t know existed, for the first time. It’s not technically the first time, I did meet them when I was very young about 7 or so, I vaguely remember the trip, but i really don’t remember my cousins. So to John, Jen and Kim, it was nice meeting you.
The last four weeks has really flown by, but at least I know that I will get the opportunity to do this vacation all over again next year. Who knows I might even meet some other long lost cousins.
Also I joined facebook today, so if any of you are on face book look me up, you can find me under asu grad ‘08 or McClintock ‘06.
later

Dear Ben,
Great to hear such a enthusiastic account of your trip to US/California…. Aunt Celinda was glowing in her praise of you…..and John B or John D…..or John. …depending on your mood replied, “Yeah, Ben’s OK…maybe better.” Ha!
Thanks for transferring the old camera…
The last time I talked to Celinda she said John W. Pearson was as strong now as he has been for some time…….Dad
